This study investigates genetic differences in heat tolerance between California and Japanese strains of the nematode Pristionchus pacificus. The Japanese strain maintains fertility at higher temperatures. Genetic mapping identifies a region on chromosome V associated with heat-resistant fertility, suggesting that reproductive responses to temperature are genetically controlled.
